The winner of the $55 Million Powerball, draw number 1130, has finally come forward to claim their prize almost six months after it was drawn on Thursday January 11 2018.
After months of speculation and campaigns to find the unregistered holder of the winning ticket, the winner finally walked into the Tattslotto office Wednesday morning, 4 July 2018, just a few days before the unclaimed winnings would have been handed over to the State Revenue Office Victoria.
According to Powerball spokesman Matt Hart they had a few people try to claim the massive jackpot before today.
“We’ve had a few people who have come forward and claimed their dog ate the ticket or that it had gone through the wash,” he said.
The winning entry, with the numbers 32, 7, 5, 34, 38 and 11 and the Powerball 12, was bought at Brunswick’s Scole Lotto and News
